Three sites in the heart of the city, both interstices and convergence points.

Sites that are all equally tourist and historic places, transit areas and cultural locations faced with a large mixture of functions and users. This complexity calls for a personal reading on your part that you must then translate into proposals for urban furniture opening up functional possibilities for the development of the site(s).

This reading can, at your choice, take into consideration one or more of the three sites, taken in isolation or as a set.

It is important to note that two of the proposed sites are currently undergoing work (as part of the works to redevelop the Palais des Congrès conference centre and to renovate the Gare Centrale railway station), and this will continue for a minimum of two to three years. The proposals can thus either disregard this situation, or include this ephemeral and changing dimension.

In addition, in the last two editions of this competition, 95% of the proposals concerned seats. We think that the chosen sites can be a source of considerations leading to other types of urban furniture. Proposals that are innovative in this way will particularly attract our attention.

Finally, we encourage the diversification of the materials used and more particularly ecological and/or low embedded energy materials. To do this, material descriptions will be made available to you on the site. Although the request for proposals encourages the development of creativity by the use of such materials, it is not forbidden to use traditional materials, nor make use of old techniques or techniques originating in other countries. Respect for the environment is obviously of primary importance in materials selection.
